"The bansuri flute is one of the most
sensual and serene instruments to come out of
India. Only a couple of Westerners have mastered
it's intricacy; one is John Wubbenhorst."

"Evocative selections subtly fuse contemporary
Western harmonies and meditative lines with Indian
raga forms.......an elated voice to the extensive
Indian classical training he received at the feet
of Hariprasad Chaurasia during years of study in India........an
immensely appealing tapestry of sound "
--Hinduism Today

- Happy
Journey - happened spontaneously in the
studio while we were mixing and features the "Hadgini"
drum, a unique 2 pieced clay drum than Ken Anoff plays
so well.
- Heartrise - falling into the depth
of the heart, I'm reminded of Ramana Maharshi's phrase,
"let the mind sink into the heart ..."
- Midnight
Meditation - is taken from the raga Malkauns
and communicates the profound meditation that one
can feel at midnight when all is still.
- Bengali
Folk Song - an example of the sweetness
and beauty found in the folk music of Bengal.
- Initiation- is based on the raga
Madhuvanti and conjures up feelings of spiritual initiation
as one begins to feel beyond the small contracted
body/mind.
- Noon Mist - comes from the raga
Shudh Sarang; the raga for the time period around
noon, and fills one with a soothing bliss.
- Afternoon
Prayer - raga Bhimpalasi, with its sublime
rasa of meditation and devotion is the source for
this piece.
- Peace/Thy will be Done- is from
raga Bhupali. It is our hope that this music fills
you with peace.
